LakeFront Restaurant at the Tamarack Lodge in Mammoth Lakes, CA

We had a special occasion to celebrate, so we went up-market and dined at the LakeFront Restaurant at the Tamarack Lodge (http://www.tamaracklodge.com/lakefront-restaurant).  The meal was delicious, the portions were perfect, and the staff were friendly and efficient.  We went in jeans and felt fine, and the atmosphere was cozy, but we did feel like it would be an intrusion on the other guests to be popping off with our flash camera throughout the meal, so the pictures below are a bit darker than usual.

My wife and I both got the Wild Mushroom Strudel as an appetizer.  While we usually spread the field and order something different to share, on this occasion we read so many rave reviews of this dish on Yelp that we each greedily wanted our own.  It was the right call, I wouldn't have shared mine.

Our son opted for the French Onion soup.  The ciabatta croutons and gruyere cheese were a great twist on this well-executed classic.

For dinner, we enjoyed the Lamb Provencal...

...the Mixed Game Selection (elk, quail, and pork - all fantastic)...

...and our son even ordered from the kid's menu for a change, getting the filet mignon.

Lastly, we enjoyed three different desserts, but I can only speak to my wild Maine blueberry tart - which was fantastic!
A fantastic meal, and a very special occasion!
