Zion National Park - walking along the Virgin River and to Weeping Rock

With the temperature dropping and the rain setting in, we kept it simple for a day and rode the shuttle bus to the Temple of Sinawava stop and took a short walk up the Virgin River.

Zion Canyon seems lush and green after Death Valley...go figure!

If you are properly dressed and equipped, you can actually continue the Riverwalk Trail right up the Virgin River into the canyon.  We were neither, so we stopped where the trail entered the water below.

Since this wasn't much exercise, we also took a short footpath to Weeping Rock.  In the hot, dry summer months, Weeping Rock is a favorite spot as the springs in the rock face above cause it to drip cool water all year round.  On a cold and rainy day in April, it's not such a big deal.
