Our trip is complete.
In one evening outing, we had a Roman meatzza e formaggio festival, consumed our weight in Mozzarella di Bufala, had the BEST ITALIAN SAUSAGE ever, and picked up a quart of milk to make tea in the morning.
As if this wasn't enough, on the way home, we walked past the offices of the Partito dei Comunisti Italiani.
Our son, who as I have mentioned before is a huge history buff, is currently about 200 pages into Robert Service's biography of Stalin. I'm sure he will have many questions for them when we walk by one day this week and the Rolling Curtain has been lifted from the doorway.
Even more of a relief, putting the link above and this picture on the blog has forever disqualified me from running for political office in the United States, so I can finally come out and say that I support Ron Paul for President in any year and any country, and I hope that the plutocrats and kleptocrats currently running the U.S. government and industry are on borrowed time! And while I'm at it, I wouldn't vote for a hypocritical, bigoted ideologue like Rick Santorum ever, in any country. The Republican Party has seriously lost its way, protecting neither our rights (they never did) nor our money (they give it to the military-industrial complex and the banksters). Of course, the same is true of the Democrats, who in four short years have sacrificed the Constitution and Bill of Rights, coddled the banksters and health care industry, and proven that The Who had it right - "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".
